Anthony Mark Shayo
Board Chairperson

Since 2004, Mr. Anthony Mark Shayo is the Managing Partner of the law firm Mark & Associates Attorneys based in Dar Es Salaam. He is officiating as Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania and subordinate Courts. Mr. Mark Shayo specializes in Banking, Mining, Oil & Gas, Tax, Corporate and Commercial Law. He also acts as a director on the board of several large Tanzanian corporations, such as Green WastePro Limited; Infinity Assets Limited; BAMARK Limited; Modern Meat Plant Limited; Tanzania Tradehouse Company Limited; Tanzania Renewable Energy Consult Ltd.

Orsolya Farkas

Orsolya Farkas joined Triple Jump in 2008 and is presently the Regional Manager, Africa and the Middle East where she manages a portfolio of debt and equity investments in microfinance institutions in the region. She also regularly performs due diligence missions covering strategy, governance, risk management, lending methodology and social performance. Before joining Triple Jump, she spent five years in Paris as a Country Manager with the Council of Europe Development Bank financing small enterprises and social projects in Central and Eastern Europe.
Orsolya holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Honours) from the University of New Hampshire and a Master’s degree in Public Affairs and Development Studies from Princeton University where her course work focussed on economics, statistics and policy analysis.

Tasilo Joseph Mahuwi

Mr. Tasilo Joseph Mahuwi is presently the Managing Director of Dunduliza Company Limited and he has a long history in the cooperative sector. In partnership with DID, he succeeded to develop the Dunduliza network of SACCOS in Tanzania. In addition, for over three years he has represented the East African countries on the Board of Proxfin, an international network of thirty community finance institutions and DID. With 37 years of work experience including over 10 years on the boards of different companies, Mr. Mahuwi’s former positions include Commissioner and Registrar of Cooperatives, Executive Director of FISEDA, and Principal of the now Moshi University College of Cooperatives and Business Studies. Before taking over the post of Principal he was a lecturer at the College for six years. He is a graduate in economics and statistics from the University of Dar es Salaam holding Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degrees.

Julius Tichelaar

As an Investment Officer with AfricInvest since 2007, Julius has several years of experience in private equity including the sourcing, structuring, financial / business plan modeling and the executing of private equity transactions in Sub-Saharan Africa. He is also in charge of the follow-up of several portfolio companies. Julius has been part of deal teams for growth capital investments and buyouts in several sectors throughout Sub-Saharan Africa.
Julius holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Investments from the Erasmus University, Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

Jessie Green

Jessie Greene has been with Développement International Desjardins (DID) since 2011. As Director of Investments, she manages DID’s investment activities in Asia, Latin America and Africa, as well as serving on several fund and corporate boards. Prior to joining DID in 2011, Jessie worked as senior investment officer for an investment manager in the Netherlands, focusing on Africa and the Middle East. She also spent four years at Hivos, a Dutch Foundation, as Advisor for Financial Services and Business Development, focusing on East Africa. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture Economics from McGill University in Canada and a Masters’ Degree in Development Economics from Dalhousie University, also in Canada.
